Watch: Sophia Floersch Involved in Bizarre Crash at Le Mans

This year’s edition of the WEC 24 Hours of Le Mans ended Sunday afternoon. But for one team it ended much earlier.

Richard Mille Racing fielded an all-female driver team of Tatiana Calderon, Sophia Floersch and Beitske Visser for the protype in the LMP2 class. Their race ended near the 6-hour mark Saturday when Floersch spun trying to avoid a spinning car just ahead.

Her car slowed and stalled in the middle of the track and as she was trying to get it re-set, was t-boned by the Racing Team India Eurasia car.

The team’s race was over, and Floersch was sent to the medical center to be checked out. She was later released.

Floersch was also involved in a very famous crash during an F3 race in Macau in 2018 when her car was launched into the air and into a building. She, and several track workers were injured.
