Video: Red Bull Redfines Rush Hour With F1 Joy Ride Through New York City
Formula 1 is coming to Miami in 2022, and what better way to drum up interest in the F1 Miami Grand Prix than to turn a Red Bull F1 car loose on the streets of … New York City.
Hey, it’s a small country. All the cities are the same.
Earlier this month, Red Bull filmed it’s 2011 F1 championship-winning RB7 race car driving through the streets of New York, through the Wall Street district and along the Hudson River. Next year, Red Bull brings its 2022 car to the streets of Miami.
While the demonstration through New York City may not have made a lot of sense to fans looking forward to seeing the high-powered F1 machines in Miami Gardens next May, it made for great images and some cool video to kick off a Monday.
In 2022, Formula 1 will race on a 3.36-mile, 19-corner street course around the Hard Rock Stadium and its private facilities in the Miami suburb of Miami Gardens, home of the Miami Dolphins NFL team.
For F1 fans in NYC, we look back to when Red Bull pulled off a similar show and tell in New York City in 2012 in an effort to drum up support and interest in an ill-fated, never-happened F1 New York Grand Prix.
