LEVC Presents Details For Its VN5 Range-Extended Electric Van
It will go up to 58 miles (93 km) in all-electric mode and can also quickly recharge the battery.
London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has released more details about the upcoming LEVC VN5 range-extended van (a series-hybrid setup with plug-in capability, similar to LEVC TX taxi).
The VN5 is coming to the market in Q4 2020 (the RHD version, and in March 2021 the LHD version) and is already available for order in the UK, where it starts at £46,500 (€51,760/$58,660), including the £8,000 grant. LEVC wrote: “VN5 will enter the market later this year in a highly competitive position, offering generous standard equipment, low operating costs, a comprehensive warranty and strong residual values.”
The expected all-electric range in the WLTP cycle is 58 miles (93.3 km), while the total range will be around 300 miles (483 km). It’s not confirmed, but we believe that the battery capacity is the same as in TX – 31 kWh.
There is a lot that can be liked about the VN5, including flexibility of range and flexibility of charging through two DC fast charging inlets – CHAdeMO and CCS Combo 2, for up to 50 kW charging, as well as a standard 11 kW on-board charger (with an option for 22 kW).
LEVC said that the VN5 has been designed to last twice as long as the competition. The base warranty is 5-year/150,000 mile for the vehicle and 8-years/150,000 miles for the battery, but can be extended to 200,000 miles.
