Maserati Ghibli & Quattroporte Trofeo bookings open in India
Maserati has introduced Trofeo versions of the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans. The carmaker has started accepting bookings for aforementioned models along with the Levante Trofeo in India.
Both cars are powered by a Ferrari-sourced V8 engine. The 3.8-litre, twin-turbo motor produces 572 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and 730 Nm @ 2,250-5,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
The same engine is available in the Levante Trofeo as well. The Quattroporte GTS also comes with the same engine albeit in a slightly lower state of tune. However, unlike the Levante SUV, both sedans are rear-wheel drive. Maserati claims that the engine propels the Ghibli and Quattroporte from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and 4.5 seconds respectively. Both cars can reach a top speed of 326 km/h. This is the first time that the Ghibli is being offered with a V8 petrol engine.
To help differentiate the more potent versions of the Ghibli and Quattroporte, Maserati has given both cars a few cosmetic updates. The front grille with its Maserati trident logo is finished in piano black. The front bumper lip and air ducts trims are finished in carbon fibre. The cars get red accents on the sides and redesigned tail lamp clusters inspired by the 3200 GT and the Alfieri concept car. 21-inch wheels come as standard.
On the inside, the Trofeo versions get full-grain Pieno Fiore natural leather upholstery with Trofeo badges on the headrests. Both cars get a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Maserati Connect program. The cars also get the Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) system, a Corsa driving mode and launch control function. The Active Driving Assist can now be activated on urban roads and highways.
