Force Motors’ next-generation modular monocoque van platform (codenamed: T1N) has been christened ‘Urbania’.
The next-gen panel van based on the Urbania platform was unveiled at Auto Expo 2020. Serial production has now commenced, and the first vehicles will be dispatched to dealerships in the coming fortnight.
According to Force Motors, the Urbania is the first vehicle in its category to offer crash and rollover compliance with airbags for the driver and co-driver. It comes with ventilated disc brakes all around supported by ESP, ABS, EBD and ETDC.
The platform is said to have been designed with a 2-box construction. It uses independent front suspension with transverse springs, a first in its segment. The vehicle is powered by a Mercedes-derived diesel engine that produces 113 BHP and 350 Nm @ 1,400-2,200 rpm.
Other notable of the Urbania panel van include projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and a car-like steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustability.
